FirstBank Opens New Location In Old Town Fort Collins
Fourth Fort Collins Location Occupies Historical Building; Will Play Host to Several Unique Community Events
FORT COLLINS, Colo., Sept. 4, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- FirstBank Holding Company, the Lakewood-based holding company for Colorado's second-largest bank by deposits, today announced the opening of its new location at 100 S. College Avenue, on the corner of Mountain and College in Fort Collins. The bank purchased the 5,935-square-foot building earlier this year and renovated the space to improve the banking experience for customers.
The new location is unique in that it has been occupied by a bank since 1904. It was rebuilt in 1962 as a mid-century modern structure by Columbia Savings. FirstBank paid careful attention during the renovation process to ensure the preservation of the building's mid-century modern historical features and architecture. Additionally, FirstBank renovated the building's existing community room, which will continue to be available for public use.
"We appreciate the rich history and character of Old Town, and wanted to renovate the building in a way that would allow FirstBank to continue playing a role in that growth, while preserving and celebrating the area's heritage," said Patrick Brady, market president for FirstBank's northern market. "Old Town is an epicenter of growth in Fort Collins, so it was important for FirstBank to establish a stronger presence in the area."
FirstBank will host a special grand opening with KXBG radio station at the new location from 12-2 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 5. Residents attending the event will receive free food and drinks, and a chance to win one of several $200 Amazon Gift Cards. Customers who receive a FirstBank "treasure chest key" mailer or visit the new branch from September 2 through November 7, 2014, will be entered to win cash prizes, including a grand prize of $1,500.
Dawn Davis will manage day-to-day operations as the executive vice president of the new location. FirstBank hired several new employees and relocated others from its nearby locations to staff the new branch.
FirstBank offers a full range of checking and savings accounts, including Free Checking and Free Business Checking. FirstBank offers its eSave account package, which automatically transfers 1 cent up to $99.99 to customers' savings account each time they use a debit card, pay a bill electronically or transfer funds. The branch will also offer mortgages, home equity loans and a full range of commercial loans and business accounts and services.
The new branch will be open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. to noon on Saturdays. Drive-through teller service will be available weekdays from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. FirstBank customers will also have the benefit of a 24-hour ATM, telephone banking and Free Internet Banking with eStatements at www.efirstbank.com.
FirstBank is highly active with local communities where its employees live and work. The company donated more than $5 million to nonprofits in Arizona, California and Colorado last year and has donated more than $45 million since 2000.
