WILLIAMSPORT, Md., Dec. 15, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- FirstEnergy Corp. (NYSE: FE) has named Don Beatty the new external affairs manager for Allegany and Garrett counties for its Potomac Edison utility. He replaces John Emerick, who has retired.
External affairs managers serve as liaisons between Potomac Edison and elected officials, as well as support community involvement activities. They work from regional offices across Potomac Edison's service area to provide closer proximity to and understanding of the unique issues that face each community they serve. Beatty will be located at the company's Oakland, Md., service center.
He joined the company in 1979, and most recently served as Potomac Edison's manager of customer support. Beatty will be relocating from the Martinsburg, W.Va., area.
He received a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from Youngstown State University and holds a professional engineering license in Ohio.
