FirstEnergy Nuclear Operating Company Names Douglas C. Saltz Director of Site Operations at Davis-Besse Nuclear Power Station
AKRON, Ohio, May 29, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- FirstEnergy Nuclear Operating Company (FENOC), a subsidiary of FirstEnergy Corp. (NYSE: FE), has named Douglas C. Saltz to director of Site Operations at the Davis-Besse Nuclear Power Station in Oak Harbor, Ohio. In this position, he is responsible for Davis-Besse's Operations, Chemistry, Radiation Protection, Work Management, Outage Management and Maintenance groups.
Saltz joined Davis-Besse in 2004 and most recently served as Davis-Besse's Site Maintenance director. He has held various leadership positions within Outage Management and Operations, including nuclear shift manager and Operations superintendent. Prior to joining FENOC, Saltz was as a licensed reactor operator at Exelon's Three Mile Island Unit 1 in Middletown, Pa.
Saltz holds a bachelor of science degree in Civil Engineering from The Ohio State University. He also served in the U.S. Navy as a nuclear submarine officer.
