FirstEnergy Severe Storm Outage Update

AKRON, Ohio, July 28, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- FirstEnergy Corp. (NYSE: FE) employees and contractors are in the process of completing service restorations for the remaining customers in western and central Pennsylvania who lost power as a result of severe storms that moved through the area on July 26.

The majority of the 11,000 Penelec and 6,400 West Penn Power customers affected by the storms should be restored by this evening, with the remainder completed on Sunday.
