ORLANDO, Fla., July 13, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- In a move to broaden the Midwest based Fishidy platform and attract more stream fishermen to the Fishidy ecosystem, the company has partnered with South Bend, Indiana-based Nukru to utilize their Ryple web service for bug hatch prediction capabilities across 8,000 United States streams. The partnership provides a first in the industry by leveraging the existing waterway logging and discovery functionality within the Fishidy site with the stream-based, hatch prediction functionality offered by the Ryple data platform.
Offered as a paid web service with a free companion iOS mobile app, Ryple leverages the optimal intersection of water depth, local barometric pressure, and tidal influence to determine what day/hour and U.S. stream contains the proper conditions for hatches to occur in the coming week. This knowledge allows fly fishermen using the Fishidy website the ability to proactively plan their schedule a week in advance around the optimal time(s) and stream location(s) defined in the system.
"In seeking new markets to expand the Fishidy platform, we wanted to attract the stream fisherman into our ecosystem of social interaction, discovery and pro-active planning," said Brian Jensen, CEO of Fishidy. "The Ryple service is the perfect fit because it provides massive value to the fly fisherman or stream angler looking to better plan his/her time (and location) on the water."
Existing paid subscribers of the Fishidy site already have access to the Ryple data with 7-day future prediction scoring for over 8,000 U.S. streams articulated as a "poor," "marginal" or "excellent" scoring system. Free Fishidy members can view the current day's scoring for a specific stream, but will need to pay to view the 7-day scoring functionality.
Fishidy allows anglers to explore real-time interactive fishing maps and fishing reports, track catches and engage with an exclusive community of other anglers, captains, guides and bait shops. A Premium Subscription is also available that unlocks even more data, from proven Fishing Hot Spots® to mapped underwater structures and an hour-by-hour fishing forecaster. To learn more about the opportunities afforded to members, and to try Fishidy for free, visit http://www.fishidy.com, or download the mobile app via Apple iTunes and Google Play Store.
