NEW YORK, Oct. 1, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Fist to Five Advisors has announced the dates and locations of the fall Fist to Five LIVE event series, which will launch in New York City on October 6, 2015. Hosted by SaxBST, the events bring together not-for-profit and for-profit leaders who want to learn more about how they can improve their bottom lines and generate increased return on investment by harnessing the power of social sustainability.
On the heels of Kickstarter's announcement that the company has reincorporated as a "public benefit corporation," the Fist to Five team will kick-off its fall event series in New York City with an event entitled "Moving Towards a Movement." Co-sponsored by Arthur J. Gallagher & Co., Innovative Health Plan, LLC and JPMorgan Chase & Co., the event will take place from 8-10:00 a.m. at the Vanderbilt Suites located in the MetLife Building at 44th Street and Vanderbilt Avenue.
Fist to Five founder and SaxBST Partner Todd Polyniak will lead a lively and transformative panel discussion with Tony Truesdale, former President and CEO of The Vitamin Shoppe, and Sharen Duke, Executive Director of AIDS Service Center NYC.
"At the Vitamin Shoppe, our mantra is 'what matters…every body matters' – and that's exactly what Fist to Five events seek to promote," said Truesdale, who retired from his 8-year tenure at The Vitamin Shoppe in June. "By bringing socially sustainable solutions to the business world, Fist to Five Advisors helps businesses have a greater impact on each member of the community, which in turn results in sustainability and profitability for the companies themselves."
Duke added, "The Fist to Five approach has helped ASCNYC strengthen its fiscal solvency, so that we can more efficiently and effectively promote positive change for New Yorkers seeking health, recovery and a better future as they navigate life with HIV and other chronic health conditions." Duke founded AIDS Service Center NYC in 1990 and has grown the not-for-profit organization to more than 90 staff members and a budget of $8 million.
Innovative Health Plan, LLC is a presenting sponsor of the October 6th event. In partnership with Jeff Sobel Consulting, the company helps organizations and businesses take control of their health benefit programs and plans. Jeffrey Sobel, Founder and President, says the partnership with Fist to Five is a natural one, stemming from both groups' emphasis on community impact and long-term solutions.
"We are excited to be part of the Fist to Five movement as we grow and educate people about Innovative Health Plan, LLC," he said. "Our missions are the same: effecting change one person and one company at a time."
Other events in the fall Fist to Five Live series are slated for October 21, 2015 at the Wolferts Roost County Club in Albany, and November 19 at The Venetian in Garfield, N.J. Additional sponsors include Columbia Bank and Heffernan Insurance. To register or learn more, visit the Events page at www.fisttofive.com.
