Fiverr Issues "The Big Hook" Challenge to Talented Musicians Hungry for Their Big Break as Music Month Begins

NEW YORK, June 3, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Fiverr®, the world's largest marketplace for creative and professional services, is about to give music lovers a chance to "take things to 11." Fiverr today kicked off The Big Hook, a month-long challenge inviting talented musicians to compose and perform a catchy, original, 30-second song hook for a shot at Nashville music super-stardom. Some of YouTube's biggest music influencers -- including Anthony Vincent (of "10 Second Songs" fame); Hannah Trigwell; Louisa Wendorff; Andrew Huang -- will judge The Big Hook contest finalists. Fiverr and its partner American Songwriter Magazine will announce The Big Hook winner in early July.

The Big Hook is the jewel of June Music Month. It showcases Fiverr's rapidly-growing Music & Audio category among the hundreds of creative and professional service categories available at Fiverr.com. Judges will evaluate entries on catchiness, creativity and each musician's potential star power. Victors will earn cash and prizes designed to fuel their music ambitions, including:

• Grand Prize: All-expenses-paid trip to Nashville songwriting bootcamp, courtesy of Songspace music network. Bootcamp includes music mentoring sessions; co-writing sessions; studio recording time; consideration for representation from Riptide Music Group for television and film placement; and free membership in a performing rights organization of his or her choice
• Second Place: $2,000 + $350 Fiverr credit
• Third Place: $1,000 + $200 Fiverr credit

Now through June 24, contest hopefuls can submit a video of their 30-second hook on https://www.fiverr.com/thebighook. After a round of public voting, Fiverr will narrow down the top 50 finalists before the YouTube star judges take over. Fiverr will announce the Grand Prize winner in early July.

Fiverr also announces an innovative collaboration with Webby Award-nominated musician, composer and music video sensation Kutiman, known for linking technology and music to connect the world. For his newest project, Kutiman virtually assembled 24 Fiverr musicians from a dozen countries for one unforgettable Fiverr Gig®. He then stitched them together to create a fresh YouTube video titled "Intergalactic Lovers." Kutiman will release the full song later this month on YouTube.
