Fleishman-Hillard Appoints Katie Huang Shin Global Deputy Managing Director of Technology Sector Group
ST. LOUIS, Nov. 30, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Fleishman-Hillard International Communications today announced the appointment of Katie Huang Shin, senior vice president and partner, to the position of global deputy managing director of the firm's technology sector group. In this newly created position, Huang Shin will work closely with Bob Winslow, who heads this award-winning group for Fleishman-Hillard.
Known for her global strategy development, unparalleled commitment to cultivating client partnerships and strong leadership talents, Huang Shin brings vast experience to her new role. She has counseled a broad spectrum of clients, from Fortune 500 companies to venture-funded startups in the technology industry. Since joining Fleishman-Hillard in 2009, she has led corporate and technology communications initiatives for industry pillars and innovators, helping them set business agendas, deposition competitors, orchestrate company transformations and expand into new markets.
As head of Fleishman-Hillard's technology practice in San Francisco, Huang Shin regularly provides strategic counsel to some of the firm's largest technology clients across such key segments as enterprise, telecommunications and IT infrastructure. Drawing on her years of experience with multinational companies, she also helps lead the firm's recently introduced Global China Practice, a comprehensive offering designed to harness the global resources of the firm in support of Chinese companies expanding overseas.

Prior to joining Fleishman-Hillard, Huang Shin was the senior vice president and deputy general manager of Weber Shandwick Northern California, where she oversaw top global technology clients and was responsible for instilling client service excellence, talent/staff development and management of local operations. Previously, she had been managing director of Horn Group's headquarters in San Francisco, providing operational oversight and serving as a senior adviser to many of the firm's clients. At Horn Group, her work centered on helping emerging technology innovators and midsize enterprise software providers build brand, reputation and market leadership with their stakeholders. Earlier in her career, she also worked for leading technology PR firms Applied Communications and Lois Paul & Partners.

Huang Shin received a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology from the University of Washington, a master's degree in public health from San Jose State University, and a doctoral degree in organization leadership, specializing in Total Quality Management (TQM), from the University of San Francisco.
