Flemington Car and Truck Country, Princeton Automobile Company and Clinton Honda Terminate True Car
Added costs and privacy issues to consumers cited
FLEMINGTON, N.J., July 10, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- The Flemington Car and Truck Country Family of Dealerships, which include 17 new car franchises, has terminated its relationship with True Car.
Founding Chairman Steve Kalafer cited the absolute incremental cost that the consumer must bear when using the True Car Channel and a concern about the potential for violating privacy statutes.
Automobile pricing in the United States is completely transparent. Every day, and sometimes hourly, new car manufacturer's list prices, cost prices, rebates and financing options are listed on hundreds of websites available to all consumers.
"The additional cost of True Car fees and costs are added to or passed on to the public with little apparent value added that we can verify," said Steve Kalafer.
"Concerns going forward for the level of proprietary and personal information that True Car wants to extract from our customers could lead to unwanted intrusions that possibly could compromise privacy," said Byron Brisby, President of Flemington Car and Truck Country.
"Anytime we can be more efficient and transparent in pricing and serving our customers ultimately leads to true value where it matters most," said Josh Kalafer, President of The Princeton Automobile Company and Clinton Honda.
