FLEX Scholar Essay Contest Promoting Financial Literacy to Provide College Scholarships

CHICAGO, Aug. 15, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- CreditCardGuide.com, the trusted source for credit cards online, announced today the Flex Scholar Essay Contest to encourage financial literacy among young adults.  "There is a critical need for stronger money-related skills among today's college students. To be eligible, essay contest applicants must currently be enrolled as freshmen or sophomores in an accredited college or university.  The essay writing competition will allow contestants to choose among several financial topics covering various dimensions of adult financial life. 

The FLEX Scholar essay contest award will total $10,000 and will be comprised of 10 separate $1,000 awards granted to the winners based on criteria including originality, coherence, community service and evidence of sound research.  To enter the essay contest students can visit http://www.creditcardguide.com/flexscholar/.   The application deadline for submissions will be September 28, 2012.  The 10 winners will be notified by email on October 31, 2012, with winning award checks made payable directly to their college or university.
