FlexEnergy: World's Cleanest Power Platform Debuts in Riverside, California Landfill
August 12th, 2010 Ribbon Cutting at Lamb Canyon Landfill will unveil game-changing energy technology
IRVINE, Calif., July 22 /PRNewswire/ -- FlexEnergy, a clean tech business with the breakthrough solution to create clean energy from harmful greenhouse gases with near zero emissions, in collaboration with the County of Riverside Waste Management Department, will celebrate the inaugural installation of the Flex Powerstation at Lamb Canyon Landfill on August 12, 2010.
FlexEnergy CEO Joseph Perry states, "FlexEnergy will allow landfills to generate the power we need while efficiently removing a burden on the environment. Every landfill has this problem, many have attempted to solve it, and this ribbon cutting of our near zero emission system demonstrates that Flex has found the solution."
The result of ten years of development, the Flex Powerstation allows a landfill to transform its harmful and often previously unusable methane gas into energy with near zero emissions. This installation marks a turning point in clean energy generation, as the Flex Powerstation is the only system able to run on low Btu gas, removing this environmental burden while using it as a clean energy source.
The Honorable Stephen L. Johnson, former head of the United States EPA, will be Master of Ceremonies. Johnson, with a three decade commitment to protecting the environment in the EPA, is the recipient of numerous honors, including the Presidential Rank Award. Many other environmental and political leaders are expected to be in attendance.
About FlexEnergy:
FlexEnergy (www.flexenergy.com) is committed to providing systems to utilize existing, unconventional energy sources to create new, sustainable solutions. Flex technology has taken one of the world's largest sources of greenhouse gases and transformed it into an energy source for the clean generation of electricity, offering energy recovery where it was previously impossible.
Three hundred million tons of methane seep into the atmosphere each year, most too dilute for current technology to destroy. The FlexPowerstation uses all methane sources, even in low concentrations, for generating clean, renewable energy. Unlike other technologies, the FlexPowerstation creates electricity with almost no NOx or CO emissions, providing a breakthrough solution for landfills, coalmines, digesters and other methane sources by producing clean energy while meeting stringent emission regulations.
