BLOOMFIELD HILLS, Mich., Sept. 12, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Flexible Plan Investments, Ltd., a leading provider of actively managed investment solutions, has joined with Third Day Advisors and now offers four of its risk managed strategies. The strategies will be managed by portfolio manager, Ken Whitley, founder and long-time President of Third Day Advisors, who has joined the staff at Flexible Plan.
The four Third Day strategies – Third Day Aggressive, Third Day S&P, Third Day Tactical Blend and Third Day Tactical Blend Balanced – invest in leveraged long and inverse index mutual funds based on each strategy's respective benchmark. The strategies measure the US equity markets' momentum and level of short-term over extension to determine their daily trading signals. The resulting composite signals indicate the direction the markets are likely to move and the risk level for the trades in each strategy.
Ken Whitley, portfolio manager for the Third Day strategies, explained: "Though trade positions are scaled to match the opportunity for profit, the strategy is suitable for aggressive investors with a high risk tolerance. Third Day strategies can also provide the opportunity for returns when combined with other non-correlated strategies for strategic diversification and a balanced portfolio equity line."
Jerry Wagner, president of Flexible Plan, indicated: "We are excited to have someone with Ken's extensive experience join the firm. And we are equally enthused at the prospect of adding his active strategies to our extensive array of actively managed investment solutions. As a proponent of strategic diversification since the 1990's, the addition of four more strategies means we have even more tools for making sure our clients have the opportunity to successfully navigate the stormy financial market seas."
