FlexITy Completes SSAE 16 Type II Audit for FlexNet and FlexTel Managed Services

Continued commitment to the highest of standards for data centre operational excellence, FlexITy completes its annual SSAE 16 Type II examination after a stringent audit process by Ernst &Young (EY).

Assessed by auditors from EY, this certification demonstrates FlexITy's commitment to the highest standards of operational excellence for its customers across Canada.

SSAE No. 16 is a reporting standard for service organizations put forth by the Auditing Standards Board (ASB) of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). SSAE16 addresses engagements undertaken by a service auditor for reporting on controls at service organizations that provide services to user entities, for which a service organization's controls are likely to be relevant to a user entity's internal control over financial reporting (ICFR).

The audit, which was conducted at FlexITy's Canadian data centres, determined that every site now meets or exceeds SSAE16 standards for logical and physical security, change management, operations management and backup and recovery. The results of the audit were "unqualified", meaning that the control measures in place are effective and operating as designed. This audit is of particular importance to FlexITy's financial services and public sector clients, for which SSAE16 reporting on a service organization's controls is often a requirement.
