Florida Department of Law Enforcement Selects AirWatch Enterprise Mobility Management Platform for Agency Wide Deployment

ATLANTA, June 26, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- AirWatch® by VMware, the leading enterprise mobility management (EMM) provider, announced today that the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) selected AirWatch to manage its agency wide deployment of government-owned mobile devices.

FDLE recently revised its mobility strategy to include iOS and Android devices, and consequently began searching for an MDM solution for device management, security and regulatory compliance. After reviewing analyst research, surveying potential EMM vendors and completing a proof of concept evaluation, FDLE selected AirWatch. According to FDLE, the agency chose AirWatch because of its ability to enforce robust management and security parameters while preserving the technology's user experience. As with any government agency, FDLE needed an EMM provider with maximum security capabilities, including enforcement of device authentication with PIN or password, enforcement of device wipe after multiple failed PIN/passcode entries and the ability to detect and block jailbroken or rooted devices from the corporate network.
