ALICE, Texas, Sept. 13, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Forbes Energy Services Ltd. (NASDAQ: FES and TSX: FRB) today announced its rig and trucking hours for the month of August 2011.
For the month ending
August 31, 2011
July 31, 2011
August 31, 2010
Total rig hours
John Crisp, Forbes Energy Services' President and Chief Executive Officer, commented, "Rig hours continued to improve in strength in August as we continue to experience strong customer demand and pull additional rigs from the stack yard. We now have nine rigs remaining in the yard and anticipating having those deployed by year end. In the U.S., we achieved our highest total hours ever, breaking the previous record set in October of 2008. Mexico is also benefitting from the additional rigs we deployed into that market this summer, resulting in operating hours in excess of 7,000 for the first time since inception.
"Truck hours have been a bright spot for us as they continue their strong performance with steady demand from our customers. We currently have over fifty vacuum trucks on order to displace third party operators we use in times of peak demand. While this will not necessarily drive additional revenues, it should increase margins as these third party costs diminish."
U.S. rigs generally work all weekdays except holidays. Mexico rigs generally work every day except holidays. Trucks generally operate every day except Sundays and holidays. Rig and truck hours represent actual hours billed to customers.
