Foresters partners with The Red Cross to help Americans prepare for emergencies
New partnership program equips everyday heroes with training, kits
March is Red Cross Month
TORONTO, March 2, 2015 /PRNewswire/ - Foresters™, an international financial services provider, and the American Red Cross have partnered to deliver Foresters Prepared with Care, a program that will provide valuable preparedness training and emergency kits to families in communities across America. With only 66 percent of Americans feeling somewhat prepared for a disaster and only 39 percent having an emergency kit1, the partnership program helps address the need for emergency preparedness in homes across the country and offers turnkey execution.

Foresters will implement the program through Foresters Community Grants, a Foresters member benefit2 which enables members to apply for grants of up to $2,500 to deliver volunteer-based events in their own communities. Foresters members can use community grants to organize and deliver their own Foresters Prepared with Care event as a turnkey program. The members and their guests will:
- receive life-saving preparedness training led by local Red Cross chapters
- assemble Red Cross emergency preparedness kits to take home and share with their friends, families and community. The kits will include essential items such as flashlights, fresh water, hand sanitizers, emergency blankets, etc.
