Former Abuse Victim Details Experiences of Suffering and Survival in New Book

CHICAGO, Nov. 19, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- After having been beaten and abused for several years, Raven Storm finally sought help, and as part of her recovery process was advised by a therapist to "write it all down" as a cathartic exercise. Her random notes have become a 460-page book titled "Loving The Addict," which was released recently by iUniverse.

Storm, 35, was formerly a licensed cosmetologist in Chicago, IL. Since its release in October, her book has become a best seller with a five-star rating on various book sales charts. The interest in her book has prompted Storm to establish a website (www.loving-the-addict.com) to provide crucial resources and positive messages offering help and guidance to others in abusive relationships.

Storm is highly involved with online efforts to stop abuse, serving as the admin for Put a Stop to Domestic Violence. She is also on the National Coalition for Domestic Violence and the Illinois Coalition for Domestic Violence in addition to being active on 82 other domestic violence coalition websites and Facebook pages.
