Former Congressman Space Joins Vorys Advisors

WASHINGTON, Nov. 15, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Vorys, Sater, Seymour and Pease LLP is pleased to announce that former Congressman Zachary T. Space (D-OH) has joined Vorys Advisors LLC, a wholly-owned affiliate of the firm. Ohio-based Vorys Advisors, which is led by former Congressman David Hobson (R-OH), provides business and strategic counsel to the law firm's clients and other businesses and organizations. With the addition of Space, Vorys Advisors is now the only firm that employs two former Ohio members of Congress, one from each political party.

During his tenure representing Ohio's 18th Congressional District, Space served on the House Committee on Energy and Commerce. He also served on its Subcommittee on Commerce, Trade and Consumer Protection; Subcommittee on Communications, Technology and the Internet; and Subcommittee on Health. His work in Congress focused on growing the manufacturing, technology and energy sectors of Ohio's economy.

Space has been a dedicated public servant. Prior to being elected to Congress, he served as the law director for Dover, Ohio and as a board member of the Tuscarawas County Board of Mental Retardation and Developmental Disabilities.

Space is also a successful small-business owner. He and his father opened the law firm Space & Space Company, LPA in 1986, and he worked as an attorney at the firm for nearly 20 years. Space also worked as a public defender and served as special counsel to former Ohio Attorneys General Anthony Celebrezze and Lee Fisher.

Space received his J.D. from The Ohio State University Mortiz College of Law.  He received his B.A. in political science from Kenyon College, where he was awarded All-American honors while playing football for the Kenyon Lords.
