Former Kentucky Chief Information Officer, Aldona Valicenti, Joins CGI

FAIRFAX, VA, Feb. 8 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ - CGI Group, Inc. (NYSE: GIB; TSX: GIB.A), a leading provider of information technology and business process services announced today the hiring of former Kentucky Chief Information Officer (CIO) and Public Official of the Year, Aldona Valicenti, as CGI Vice-President for State and Local markets.

At CGI, Ms. Valicenti will work directly with Governors, State CIOs and other officials to help them address critical IT needs as states struggle to balance delivery of citizen services with ongoing budget challenges. Her unprecedented knowledge of state government operations, coupled with the CGI team's deep domain knowledge, will accelerate CGI's approach to identifying and deploying built-for-government solutions for state and local entities. 

Ms. Valicenti has previously served as the President of the National Association of State Chief Information Officers (NASCIO). Most recently, she worked as a Vice-President of Business Development and Strategy for Oracle, where she led a team of business development executives and program managers to identify and nationally deploy solutions to state and local government customers.

Prior to her tenure at Oracle, Ms. Valicenti served as Kentucky's Chief Information Officer under Gov. Paul E. Patton. Ms. Valicenti was the first appointed CIO for the state—a position which Gov. Patton established through legislation as part of the Executive Cabinet. As state CIO, Ms. Valicenti managed information technology for the Executive Branch of the government and had oversight for the statewide information technology investments.
