WASHINGTON, Oct. 22, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- In response to a growing corporate and nonprofit market in need of broader messaging and public relations strategy, Jarvis C. Stewart and Rae Robinson Trotman announced today the creation of IR+Media, a Washington, D.C.-based integrated communications agency. The agency's service offerings include public relations, strategic communications, executive positioning, and corporate diversity and inclusion, particularly related to women and LGBT markets.
Mr. Stewart, who will serve as IR+Media's chairman and chief strategist, was chief of staff to former U.S. Rep. Harold Ford (D-TN) and on the senior staff of former Clinton Labor Secretary Alexis M. Herman. He spent nearly 20 years as a federal government and public affairs consultant. His clients have included Jamba Juice, NASCAR, SCL Health Systems, Walmart, and the Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial Project Foundation. With his experience in public affairs and crisis management, Mr. Stewart advises clients on outreach to opinion leaders and how to navigate sensitive matters impacting their corporate reputation.
Ms. Trotman, the agency's co-founder and managing partner, will oversee IR+Media's growing client portfolio and service execution. Prior to IR+Media, she was vice president at The Caraway Group, a Washington-based PR agency. Her clients included the Annie E. Casey Foundation, Microsoft, AT&T, MGM MIRAGE, and Teach for America. She also worked as a public affairs specialist at the National Center for Mission and Exploited Children and Massachusetts Children's Trust Fund.
"Jarvis and I are excited about the formation of IR+Media," said Trotman. "Combining our expertise in communications, public affairs, and business was a natural fit for the two of us, and will produce extraordinary results for our clients and those who entrust us with their brand."
Drug Policy Alliance, defense and aerospace industry leader, Exelis, Inc., Hyundai Motor America, the National Museum for African American Music and the H Street Community Development Corporation are among the organizations that have recently engaged the agency.
"The market demands a full suite of strategic communications services from professionals who have been tested," said Stewart. "Over the last several months, we've built a team that is experienced and creative in their approach to client services and delivering results."
