Former White House Project leader to speak at Women at Molnlycke Summit

NORCROSS, Ga., May 7, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Tiffany Dufu, former president of The White House Project and collaborator with Lean In author Sheryl Sandberg, will join two nationally recognized speakers to discuss the role of female leaders at the first Women at Molnlycke Summit. Sponsored by medical device maker Molnlycke Health Care US, the summit will be held May 29-30 in Dallas, Texas.

The Chief Leadership Officer at Levo League, Dufu will join Audrey Nelson, Ginny Corsi and some 120 female employees of Molnlycke in a series of discussions and workshops that will explore challenges and opportunities for all women regarding career and life planning.

"Only 15 percent of C-level and board positions are held by women," said Southlake, Texas resident James G. Wetrich, President & General Manager, The Americas for Molnlycke Health Care, and the prime mover behind the event. "Myriad challenges, biases and stereotypes are impacting women in the workforce. The summit will allow women to address challenges they face at work.  There is tremendous need for corporate leaders to 'lean in' to their responsibility to ensure gender equity throughout their organizations."

Wetrich served with Dufu on the Board of Directors of The White House Project, a non-profit organization that worked to increase female representation in American institutions, businesses and government. Wetrich and Barbara Osborne, president of Molnlycke's U.S. wound care division, will open and close the program.

Dufu will discuss the external and internal barriers women face in the workplace. She leads the Levo League, a career resource organization for young women, and works with Sandberg on building Lean In, an online community that has grown from Sandberg's book. Dufu was named to Fast Company's League of Extraordinary Women and by the Huffington Post as one of 19 women who are leading the way toward gender equity.

Dr. Audrey Nelson will tackle the topic "He Speaks, She Speaks: What Different Things They Say." She is an internationally recognized trainer, speaker and consultant who specializes in gender communication, conflict management and communication skills. She is the author of You Don't Say: Navigating Nonverbal Communication Between the Sexes and co-author of Code Switching: How to Talk so Men will Listen.

Ginny Corsi will discuss "Connecting, Not Networking." She works with CEOs and senior executives in management consulting and team-building. Prior to opening her own company, she worked in financial services in New York with private companies and was appointed as senior advisor to the director of the Agency for Internal Development within the U.S. State Department.

In addition, Sanchia Patrick, Senior Product Manager at Molnlycke, will discuss "The Importance and Impact of Mentors" and Karen Stewart, Director of Learning & Organizational Development for Molnlycke, will talk about how women can develop their careers.
