BEIJING, Aug. 27, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- The fleet for the 2015 Re-walking Maritime Silk Road initiative, sponsored by Fortune Fountain (Beijing) Holding Group, arrived at Colombo Harbor in Sri Lanka on June 7, 2015. A welcoming committee including the Sri Lanka China Cultural Center, the Sri Lanka-China Friendship Association, the Yachting Association of Sri Lanka, the Confucius Institute at the University of Colombo, the Bandaranaike International Research Center and Colombo Male Branch, among other institutions, were on hand dockside to greet the arriving fleet.
The Sino-Sri Lanka Tea Culture and Trade Exchange was held at the Bandaranaike Memorial International Convention Hall in Colombo on June 8th. Tea specialists from the two countries showcased the unique features of their respective traditional tea cultures via a tea culture exchange. In addition, Wealth and Prosperity Summit Forum co-hosted by Beijing Gainfull Wealth Group during the event played an important role in connecting sources of investment between the two countries.
Fortune Fountain (Beijing) Holding Group Co. Ltd. representative Liu Weixin gave a keynote speech during the event. Mr. Liu said: "The event held in Colombo aims to enhance exchange and cooperation with Sri Lanka in an effort to build a 21st century version of the Maritime Silk Road while, at the same time, encourage the formation of partnerships for the joint development of projects involving investment and finance, as well as to promote the friendship between China and Sri Lanka."
After the event, the team paid a visit to the Chinese embassy and met with Chinese Ambassador to Sri Lanka H.E. Yi Xianliang, where they gave a presentation on the Re-walking Maritime Silk Road initiative. Ambassador Yi praised the initiative which is sponsored by Fortune Fountain (Beijing) Holding Group and supported by Beijing Gainfull Wealth Group.
