FOSE Announces Continued Growth at 2010 Conference and Exhibition
Conference Attendance Doubles; Government Attendance Increases Across All Sectors
FALLS CHURCH, Va., June 1 /PRNewswire/ -- FOSE, the most comprehensive event for government information technology (IT) professionals, today announced the results of its Business Publication Audit (BPA) report, confirming that the 2010 event continued to be of tremendous value to government with 81.4 percent of attendees coming from the public sector. Government attendee rates grew across all sectors, including defense, civilian, and state and local representatives. Additionally, attendees with final IT purchasing authority rose to 47 percent; up from 27.1 percent in 2009. The conference portion of FOSE 2010 also saw significant growth, doubling participation from 2009.
"The results of this audit validate FOSE's role as the leading event for companies serving the federal community," said Christina Condos, Vice President of Events for 1105 Government Information Group. "Not only is FOSE the only show in this community that opens its doors to an independent audit, but as these results verify, it continues to be the most valuable event to reach buyers in the federal market."
"This is our third year providing SEWP training at FOSE," said Marcus Fedeli, a representative from the NASA SEWP program. "This is the most successful training program we have run at FOSE, with record attendance this year. We also had quality attendees from the right levels of government."
With increased social media presence and a virtual information exchange, FOSE grew beyond the traditional confines of a standard conference. This year, FOSE engaged audiences on Facebook, GovLoop, LinkedIn, and Twitter, and it contributed a constant stream of images and video to worldwide audiences on Flickr and YouTube. The total number of online followers increased by 68 percent from 2009.
"FOSE is a great opportunity to become acquainted with new technology," said Jacob Brown, a representative from the Department of Defense Inspector General's Office. "It's good to see it here, before you see it in the field. It helps you stay ahead of the curve."
FOSE – the largest trade show for government technology professionals was held March 23-25, 2010 at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, D.C. Virtual FOSE will be held July 21, 2010. FOSE 2011 will be held July 19-21, 2011 at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center.
