
Foundation Announces Official Judges for "Life During Deployment" Contest
Grant Humanitarian Foundation's Combat Relief Program Fosters Creativity Through Media Contest
SAN FRANCISCO, May 3, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- The Grant Humanitarian Foundation (GHF) announces the official judges for Combat Relief's "Life During Deployment" media contest today.
Combat Relief, a GHF program supporting American veterans, service members, and their families, has finalized its selection of four judges for the upcoming media contest. The contest, beginning May 1st, will recognize media that pertains to all aspects of life in the military community. Peers will vote on the submissions and a panel of judges will select winners from the entries receiving the highest ratings.
Celebrity Judges:
- Victoria Hay - Acclaimed independent film producer of a veteran focused narrative feature film, Happy New Year, which was featured at the South by Southwest Festival.
- Robin Bradford – a screenwriter and producer who transitioned to independent filmmaking after 25 years as CEO of a highly successful Bay Area staffing company. She is an award-winning writer who has authored more than 15 film scripts.
- Michael Cuomo - Actor and producer of the critically acclaimed, veteran focused independent narrative feature film, Happy New Year.
- Lorrel Manning - A writer, director and musician of the acclaimed veteran focused independent narrative feature film, Happy New Year.
Each judge brings an admirable enthusiasm and artistic background to Combat Relief's contest. "It's a privilege to support the military community through this contest," explained GHF President Elena Grant, " We hope this contest will give America’s servicemembers and their families the opportunity to show the rest of us, through their art, what their service to our democracy means."
The "Life During Deployment" media contest will accept submissions through the GHF Website: http://grantfound.org.
Prizes will be awarded as follows: $800 cash to the first place winner, $200 to the second place winner and a showcase of all honorable mentions on the GHF website.
