Foundry Record - Déjà Vu - Appetite For Destruction

LAS VEGAS, April 4, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Steve Thompson known as the master mixer behind Guns N' Roses "Appetite for Destruction" has added his magic touch to rising rock band Foundry's debut album.  "Foundry" was mixed by Thompson at Vegas View Recording with Engineer Matt Breunig, who also has chops with The Killers.  With a large collection of Grammys to his credit, Thompson has never shied away from taking on new bands like Foundry, that are not yet a household name.  The band wanted to work with Thompson.  They sent him their new tracks and he said "I'm in!"

"When I get to the studio, I'm 16 years old again.  I love taking bands to new heights and am proud of Foundry's drummer, Marc Brattin, for creating this project and sticking to his guns (pun intended!)," Thompson said. "We found the essence of the band, their songs, their sound and brought out the best of it." 

"The project felt like déjà vu and reminded me of 22 years ago when I walked into the studio and my job was to make Guns N' Roses' album as loud as possible." The result was "Appetite for Destruction" – the biggest selling debut rock record in music history. "Right away I was reminded of the days of yore," said Thompson. "Foundry's singer, Kelly Keeling, is a virtuoso rock singer in the school of a young Robert Plant (Led Zepplin) and joined with Brattin and the other band members James Fucci (guitar), Scott Griffin (bass) combine for a monster, modern, Black Sabbath-style sound.  The songs are great.  We meshed immediately and made an explosive rock record."

Over the years, Thompson has worked with the biggest rock bands on the planet, from Metallica and KISS to Soundgarden and Red Hot Chili Peppers, but GnR is performing live, with all original members for the first time in 23 years in Foundry's hometown of Las Vegas.  When asked the question of Foundry joining GnR for the upcoming tour, Brattin responds with a smiley grin – "Now that'd be déjà vu!"
