Four BOMA/Chicago Building Members Selected as Regional "The Outstanding Building of the Year" (TOBY) Award Winners
CHICAGO, April 7, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- The Building Owners and Managers Association of Chicago (BOMA/Chicago) announced today that four of its building members have been honored as regional "The Outstanding Building of the Year" (TOBY) Award winners by the North Central Region of the Building Owners and Managers Association.
The TOBY Awards program is one of the most prestigious and comprehensive in the commercial real estate industry, honoring excellence in office building management in a variety of categories based on building size and facility type. Judges from the BOMA North Central Region chose the regional TOBY Award winners from a pool of 29 commercial properties that previously received a local TOBY Award from BOMA chapters across Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan and Ohio.
Regional TOBY Award winners demonstrate the highest standards of excellence in building management, tenant relations, environmental and sustainability initiatives, emergency preparedness, security standards and continuing education opportunities for staff members.
The following BOMA/Chicago building members earned regional TOBY Awards in four categories:
- 250,000 to 499,000 Square Feet: 303 West Madison Street, managed by CB Richard Ellis and owned by 303 Madison Chicago, LLC.
- 500,000 to One Million Square Feet: The United Building, located at 77 West Wacker Drive, managed by Jones Lang LaSalle Americas (Illinois) LP and owned by 77 West Wacker Drive, LLC.
- Government Building: The Ralph H. Metcalfe Federal Building, located at 77 West Jackson Boulevard, owned and managed by the General Services Administration.
- Earth Award: FBI Chicago Regional Office, located at 2111 West Roosevelt Road, managed by USAA Real Estate Company and owned by FBI Chicago Partners, LLC.
"The high number of regional TOBY Awards our building members took home this year underscores our members' commitment to deploying tailored property management strategies that meet the unique needs of buildings and tenants," said Michael Cornicelli, executive vice president of BOMA/Chicago. "Our building members are truly the foundation of Chicago's commercial real estate community, and we are proud to celebrate their outstanding achievements and recognize them for their continued industry leadership."
As regional TOBY Award winners, these four BOMA/Chicago building members are qualified for the BOMA International TOBY Awards, one of the highest honors bestowed in the commercial real estate industry. The International TOBY Awards will be announced June 28 at the BOMA 2011 International Conference and Every Building Show in Washington, D.C. Last year, BOMA/Chicago building member the Aon Center won the International TOBY Award in the Over One Million Square Feet category.
