Fractals Connects 223 Million People on World Poetry Day
A new book release and poetic compilation provides a message of hope and healing for those who have suffered a traumatic event in their life.
SARASOTA, Fla., March 19, 2020 /PRNewswire/ -- Kim Richardson Publishing today announced the release of Fractals: A Poetic Journey for Acceptance by author John Krotec. The new release is available March 19, 2020 on Amazon which is just in time for World Poetry Day celebrated March 21.
Krotec shared, "Fractals is my expression of the pieces of life shattered – a message of hope through trauma and that you are not alone. These poems are facets of me, fractured pieces of my personality, attempting to make sense out of the significant events that happened to me as a young child."
70 percent of adults in the U.S. have experienced some type of traumatic event at least once in their lives. That is 223.4 million people. Traumatic events encompass anything from a sexual assault, childhood abuse, divorce or a cancer diagnosis. Abuse as a child is particularly likely to affect your adult life because it occurs at a time when your brain is vulnerable. People who have experienced trauma may also struggle with getting help. One of the most common outcomes of trauma is avoidance. Research has shown that maintaining strong social ties with friends and family members is crucial to good mental health.
Writing poetry was a methodology Krotec used to help come to grips with his swirling negative emotions. Krotec has written over four thousand poems on his healing journey and believes all humans have a common bond - they are called traumas. He also believes humans are resilient and reminds people to "keep going". Krotec's view that his traumatic brain injury was a gift and the poems themselves, will inspire others on their healing journey.
