BEIJING, Sept. 20 /PRNewswire-Asia/ -- Frbiz.com one of China's leading B2B search platforms, forecasts the 2010 wheat market situation.
In March, June and December wheat prices have and will experience a substantial drop. Although yield uncertainty may continue to bolster wheat prices in the near future, the high inventory, especially in the United States, will offset the support, effectively creating further declines in wheat prices.
Despite this, wheat prices have risen lately; however, the current weather situation has driven up demand and created issues with wheat supplies creating the possibility of shortages in late 2010 or early 2011.
When markets clear this year's yield and gap, it is expected that wheat prices will fall.
Russia continues to deal with severe drought, slashing wheat yield prospects and causing export bans. In other countries, such as Ukraine, an entire summer of bad summer has also affected wheat yield dramatically.
The failure in wheat supplies has also caused an increase in the demand for corn as animal feed -- creating a hotter market for corn suppliers.
Upcoming wheat prices are still unclear. Russia's disappointing winter wheat seeding may increase prices significantly, while the American winter wheat sowing area's large increases may in fact drag prices down.
