READING, England, September 9, 2011 /PRNewswire/ --

A survey by dating site has asked which members were most open to having sex on a first date. They then analysed what dating profile attributes those members had in common.

A statistician built a model from the data, to see which profile attributes predict various first date outcomes.

The key findings looked at:

Relationship status

One of the more extreme pieces of information collected was:

"Would you go all the way on a first date, regardless of whether you liked that person or not?"

10% of men fell into this category, although if they were students or married men, this figure rose to 20%.

Paid dating sites have a fundamental problem - at any one time only 10% or 15% of their database are paying members. This means that up to 90% of the people on a paid site cannot respond to messages, and you don't know which ones!

The two aims of a paid dating site - to provide a great experience for members, and to get members to pay - are in complete conflict. was established in 2005 by Dan Winchester in order to overcome this problem. Everyone on can use all the features of the site, including sending and replying to messages, completely free of charge, and all of the time. So 100% of the people you send messages to are able to reply.

The site has around 50,000 active UK members at any one time, with around 10,000 new members joining each month.

The business is profitable, growing, and is operated by a small team based in Reading, UK.
