From One Family to Another: Employees at Maxim Healthcare Pay It Forward

COLUMBIA, Md., Nov. 10, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Employees from Maxim Healthcare Services, Inc. (maximhealthcare.com) Payroll Department recently donated their cash rewards to the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Baltimore. Maxim Healthcare employees regularly volunteer at and provide dinner for RMH families. However, the employees from the Payroll Department were so moved by the situation of the families that they chose to give away their personal rewards to the residents of the house in the form of a gift card.

Maxim's Payroll Department recognizes and rewards employees when they maintain a professional attitude, work effectively in a team, or go above and beyond daily operations. While employees may use their rewards on themselves, the team decided to donate these funds to the Ronald McDonald House instead.

"It's really a team effort," says Customer Service Representative Valentine Freezegoode, who is credited with making the suggestion to donate the department's rewards. "I couldn't have done this without my team. My department and my peers are my family. Our culture here at Maxim Healthcare Services is to care for others, and giving back is just an extension of that."

Dawn Dandridge, Customer Service Manager and Freezegoode's supervisor, says their effort "came from the heart. It feels great to give back. Serving dinner to the families at the Ronald McDonald House puts everything into perspective for me. We do great things every day at Maxim Healthcare, but nothing makes me feel the way I do when I leave the Ronald McDonald House."

The Payroll Department employees have now pledged to contribute rewards to the Ronald McDonald House year-round.

Maxim Healthcare Services has been partnering with the Ronald McDonald House since 2009.
