From The Creator Of 190 Lorimer, A New Original Comedy Series Also Titled 190 Lorimer
NEW YORK, Jan. 15, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- 190 Lorimer, a brand new seven-episode original comedy series from semi-talented writer, Dustin Knoop, and produced by Pleasantly Surprised Productions, has officially launched and is available for the world's viewing pleasure at www.thebestwebseries.com
The seven-part English language series unfolds in a Williamsburg Brooklyn condo building with each episode centered on a different resident of the building. Surprisingly, people seem to like it as it was:
- Nominated for Best Comedy Series at the 2018 Indie Series Awards (www.indieseriesawards.com)
- Part of L.A. Web Fest Lineup (www.lawebfest.com/class-2018)
- Screened at L.A. Comedy Short Film Festival
- Screened at Miami Short Film Festival
- Received the highly sought after Festigious Award (www.festigious.com/february-2018)
- Features on www.thebestwebseries.com, a "curated selection of online content worth your time"
190 Lorimer is produced by Pleasantly Surprised Productions, a New York City screenwriter-based production company.
"I am just glad I could play a small part in addressing the single greatest threat facing our industry, which is a lack of new content. When I heard that Netflix was only producing 700 new shows this year I knew I had to act, and while the 90 minute running time of 190 Lorimer doesn't come close to solving this pervasive problem, at least I can tell my future kids, or someone else's kids in the event I don't have any myself, that when things looked their bleakest, I grabbed a camera and did what I could," said Dustin Knoop, the creator of 190 Lorimer.
The show's title has been featured in comments from film festival attendees:
- "I really liked the short film just before the 190 Lorimer episode…where the couple broke up but decided to take ecstasy together before he moved out of the apartment. Well filmed and touching." – Jonah at Miami Short Film Festival
- "I wonder if the real address is actually 190 Lorimer?" – Samantha from L.A. Comedy film festival
The team behind 190 Lorimer
Dustin Knoop is a semi-talented New York City based writer and producer who recently bought an iMac pro. While creating a critically acclaimed series would have been the easy choice, "Justin," as people typically misstate, wanted to create a comedy series he could tell his roommates "could have qualified for a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Short Form Comedy Series." Johnny Sciortino, who joined the production as a $10/hr boom operator, quickly rose up the ranks to producing partner through that rare combination of talent, grit and blackmail.
