KANSAS CITY, Kan., Sept. 24, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Dream Flights, a nonprofit dedicated to honoring veterans in retirement and assisted living communities with free flights in restored World War II-era biplanes, announced today that its longtime primary sponsor, Sport Clips Haircuts, is carrying its mission onto NASCAR's biggest stage this weekend at the NASCAR Cup Series race at Kansas Speedway on Sunday, Sept. 28.
As the primary sponsor of Denny Hamlin's No. 11 Toyota Camry XSE, Sport Clips donated space on the car to Dream Flights, featuring the nonprofit's logo and bright yellow Stearman biplane on the side doors and rear bumpers.
"Dream Flights is honored to ride with Denny Hamlin this weekend," said Dream Flights Founder Darryl Fisher. "Thanks to Sport Clips' generosity, millions of NASCAR fans will learn about our mission to honor America's heroes with the life-changing experience of a Dream Flight." Since 2011, Dream Flights has honored nearly 8,000 senior veterans with free flights of lifetime.
For more than a decade, Sport Clips has powered Dream Flights' mission of giving back to those who gave not only through financial support, but also through the hundreds of franchisees, stylists, and team members who volunteer at events across the country. Their commitment makes each Dream Flight an even more meaningful experience for veterans and their families.
"Sport Clips is proud to share our space on Denny Hamlin's No. 11 Toyota with Dream Flights and help shine a spotlight on their incredible mission of honoring senior veterans," said Gordon Logan, Air Force veteran, and founder and chairman of Sport Clips. "Seeing that bright yellow Stearman biplane on the car is a powerful reminder that racing can do more than entertain—it can inspire and help recognize those who served."
During a 15-minute Dream Flight, veterans soar 1,000 feet in an open-cockpit Stearman biplane. Pilots—retired military aviators and commercial airline captains—and crew chiefs volunteer their time to travel the country, giving senior veterans a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to take to the skies again.
Leading up to the race this weekend, Dream Flights is landing at local Kansas City and Olathe, Kansas, airports to honor pre-selected senior veterans, including local VFW members, with Dream Flights. Click here for a schedule and more information.
Based in Georgetown, Texas, Sport Clips has more than 1,800 stores and is the only national hair care franchise with locations in all 50 states and Canada. Sport Clips champions programs that give back to America's heroes, including Dream Flights and its VFW "Sport Clips Help A Hero Scholarship" program. Since 2013, this initiative has awarded more than 3,350 scholarships totaling $15.3 million to active-duty service members and veterans pursuing higher education.
