
Frozen & Dairy Buyer Wins National Award for Editorial Excellence
Two entrepreneurs honored for highly successful launch funded with credit cards and home equity loans
OLATHE, Kan., Aug. 9 /PRNewswire/ -- Frozen & Dairy Buyer magazine has been honored with the Silver Award for Editorial Excellence by the American Society of Business Press Editors (ASBPE). It took second place, nationally, among new magazines with annual revenue under $2 million.
The highly successful magazine was launched last August by two entrepreneurs using credit cards and home equity loans.
"ASBPE's competition recognizes the hard work and commitment of business and professional magazine, newsletter and Web editors and designers," according to a letter the organization sent to Frozen & Dairy Buyer announcing the award.
"Such an award is a most prestigious acknowledgement that your work has met high standards of excellence and is at the top of your profession. The Society's contest is extremely competitive, and one of the largest U.S. business publication competitions. Our judges are experienced business editors, designers, consultants and academicians. Named on the plaque presented to Frozen & Dairy Buyer were: Warren Thayer, editor and managing partner; Paul Chapa, sales director and managing partner; Randy Szarzynski, art director; Dan Raftery, contributing editor; and Morgan Little, contributing editor.
In addition to the print magazine, the company has a website, http://www.fdbuyer.com, which provides access to an online edition. The publication's mission is to help readers sell more products in the categories they manage, and to do so more profitably. Readers are the executives in charge of buying and merchandising frozen and dairy foods in supermarkets, supercenters, club stores and other venues where these products are sold.
