The new office is located in Richmond, CA, right along the San Francisco Bay, and gives Fruit Street access to the medical, technology and business communities on the West Coast. The headquarters, which will be led by Fruit Street CEO Laurence Girard, will also give the company on-ground support with a variety of key clients and stakeholders located in the San Francisco Bay area.
"We are encouraged by all of the momentum and the positive traction we've been able to gain over the past several months as we work diligently to roll-out our technology to the public," said Laurence Girard, Founder and CEO of Fruit Street Health. "The combination of our advisory board members' expertise and credentials, along with our physical presence in the San Francisco Bay area, has benefitted us significantly and positions Fruit Street as one of the most unique and innovative telemedicine platforms for both patients and healthcare providers. The entrepreneurial founders of Topline have created an excellent environment for a start-up to scale its revenues and that will be one of our focus points over the coming months."
This news comes on the heels of last month's announcement that Fruit Street had raised a $500,000 round of seed investment, led by a series of individual investors, the majority of whom are prominent physicians. In addition to funding operations and marketing functions, the investment will be used to fuel the development of Fruit Street's upcoming technology platform launch, which is anticipated to go live in the coming months.
The concept behind the Fruit Street platform has already generated buzz from the medical and healthcare community for its vision to help patients live a healthier lifestyle while enabling healthcare providers to connect with patients using video, wearable mobile technologies and other telemedicine components.
