Fusion of Tradition, Honor of Foshan

FOSHAN, China, Aug. 13, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Coinciding with the 5^th "National Fitness Day" and Master Ye Wen's 120^th anniversary, on August 8, in the Foshan Century Lotus Sport Center, more than 5,000 Wing Chun enthusiasts from Foshan, Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao, came together to achieve "the Sun Hung Kai Properties Ltd. 5,000 Wing Chun Pageant" show. The number of performers exceeded the previous world record of 3,167 people, made in Luocun, Foshan, in 2010. With the "Building Homes with Heart" brand concept, the Hong Kong company Sun Hung Kai Properties Ltd. (SHKP) fused traditional Foshan culture with modern concepts. Together with the Foshan sports administration, Foshan martial arts association and the world-famous Wing Chun Master Ye Zhun, Kong Man, they made a magnificent 5,000-person Wing Chun show to kick off the fever of fitness exercises of Foshan 2013, and also to make a good opening of the cooperation between Sun Hung Kai Properties and Foshan.

In the show, martial arts elites from six major sects of martial arts in Foshan performed their own special martial arts, and 5,000 martial arts-enthusiasts from different regions and different ages performed the Wing Chun show together, including 200 people from SHKP, 80-year-old men, 6 year-old children and Mr. Jeff Elgin, the Master Ye Zhun's apprentice from Washington, etc.

The project of the Oriental Bund developed by SHKP is located in Lanshi, Foshan, and the first phase of the project will be available and have a grand debut at the end of this year. This super-size integrated project will build together with SHKP and the Foshan people. Foshan is one of birthplaces of China Southern martial arts. In recent years, many outstanding films and TV shows with the theme of Wing Chun have been produced and used the Wing Chun master Mr. Ye Wen as a prototype. All these made Wing Chun famous worldwide and drew interest in Wing Chun culture, and even in Lingnan culture.
