density in order to maintain the critical utilization rate of vehicle fleet. For example, one-way carsharing operations typically exist in cities with population above 300,000 and round-trip carsharing is targeted at
cities above 100,000. The following factors were considered and adjusted accordingly in order to forecast three different scenarios:
o The growth of carsharing operations in 56 countries by 2025 has been analyzed. Some Central Asian, African, Latin American, and Asia-Pacific countries have been excluded. This is because there are no
clear indications of any CSOs entering these markets or visibility on policy initiatives by local governments to encourage carsharing operations. The market potential in these excluded countries could exist in the long term.
