Fuzzy's Taco Shop Hits 50 Store Mark Today in Dallas

FORT WORTH, Texas, Jan. 23, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Fuzzy's Taco Shop, the Fort Worth-based restaurant phenomena famous for its Baja style fish tacos and ice cold beer, has hit a milestone today with the opening of its 50th location and fast track growth is on the agenda for Fuzzy's this year.

The 50th Fuzzy's Taco Shop is opening today in Dallas at 4740 W. Mockingbird Ln. near Love Field.  Fuzzy's #50 is a franchise location owned by Ches Williams with Adam Haig and Shawn Phillips as operating partners.

The Fuzzy's Story

In just nine years, Fuzzy's has grown from the original Fort Worth location to 50 stores in 10 states (40 stores are throughout Texas).  All but six of the stores are franchise operations and Fuzzy's is one of the hottest restaurant franchises in the Southwest.  In 2011, Fuzzy's doubled its locations from the previous year and in 2012 Bush said that another 20 plus stores will open.

It is a phenomenal success story with humble beginnings.  In 2003, father and son, Alan and Chuck Bush, discovered Fuzzy's Taco Shop in Fort Worth near TCU.  It was the only Fuzzy's at the time and it was struggling. Realizing the potential of the restaurant, the Bushes, along with three partners, purchased the restaurant and quickly turned it around. They opened the second Fuzzy's in Fort Worth in 2007 and in 2009 the first franchised store opened.  According to Bush, Fuzzy's will continue its rapid growth as the current 33 franchise ownership groups open up an additional 137 locations currently under development agreements.
