"Emma brings a unique blend of strategic execution, killer branding, and global experience to this position," said Van Metre. "Our clients, present and future, will be thrilled that she is responsible for telling their story. And our agency will benefit from her contribution to the growth of our entire creative department."
"I'm looking forward to pushing our creative process to new heights and creating award-winning work with our incredibly talented team of artists, writers, designers, and developers," said O'Brien.
O'Brien spent nearly a decade working overseas in a variety of different advertising, communications, and publishing positions. Prior to joining FVM in February 2013, she served as a senior writer for Elmwood Design, a global brand design consultancy in the United Kingdom.
"Emma is first and foremost a great storyteller," said Paul Fleming, FVM CEO. "Since her arrival here in early 2013, it became quite clear that her passion for writing combined with great strategic instincts about our clients' goals was having an amazing impact on our work. Not to mention she's fun to be around."
O'Brien's appointment comes at the end of another year of growth for the small Philadelphia-based communications agency. "We're ending this year on a very high note. We've expanded our services, grown our client base, and hired a slew of exceptionally talented individuals. We're looking forward to 2014 and the industry can expect great things from FVM—especially with Emma at the creative helm," Fleming said.
