G2 Crowd announces the best accounting software, based on hundreds of user reviews

CHICAGO, Oct. 30, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- The Fall 2014 Grid(SM) report for accounting software, announced today by business software review site G2 Crowd, ranks nine products to help accounting platform purchasers in their selections. The report is based on more than 300 reviews and ratings from business professionals.

The Grid(SM), G2 Crowd's software recommendation engine, factors in customer satisfaction reported by users and vendor market presence determined from social and public data to rank products.

Accounting software maintains a business's ledger, tracks incoming and outgoing transactions, and automates the processes surrounding these accounts, such as invoicing and reconciliation. Depending on the business's needs, it might be an application of or integrated with a business's ERP or CRM software. Accounting systems vary widely in complexity; some focus on SMBs with ease-of-use, and others are optimized for enterprise scalability or designed for the standards of a specific industry.                                      

To qualify as a Leader, a product must receive a high customer satisfaction score and have substantial market presence. QuickBooks, Xero and NetSuite ERP were named Leaders. Freshbooks and Intacct were named High Performers; High Performers have high customer satisfaction scores with a smaller market presence than Leaders. Freshbooks earned the highest overall customer satisfaction score.

Across all accounting tools, reviewers reported the product they use meets their requirements at an average rate of 79%, and on average reviewers said they were 74% likely to recommend the product they use.
