G2 Crowd publishes Spring 2015 rankings of the best digital asset management platforms, based on user reviews

CHICAGO, March 31, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- The first Grid^SM report for digital asset management software, published today by business software review site G2 Crowd, ranks 11 products to help purchasers in their selections.

The Spring 2015 report is based on more than 200 reviews written by business and content professionals.

The Grid^SM, which is created from G2 Crowd's software review platform, factors in customer satisfaction reported by users and vendor market presence determined from social and public data to rank products.

Digital asset management tools, or DAM tools, catalogue and maintain repositories of media files such as photos, audio files, and video files. DAM systems often come with other features such as powerful import and export functionality, versioning, preview and thumbnail views of assets optimized for processing speed, and automatic transformation of files to different file types or file sizes.

DAM software often integrates with other management software, such as those listed in G2 Crowd's Enterprise Content Management category and Web Content Management category, as well as with other creative software.

To qualify as a Leader, a product must receive a high customer satisfaction score and have substantial market presence. None of the platforms included in this report were named Leaders. High Performers have high customer satisfaction scores with a smaller market presence than Leaders. Widen Media Collective, Brandfolder, MerlinOne, Canto Cumulus, WebDAM and ResourceSpace were named High Performers. Widen Media Collective earned the highest overall customer satisfaction score.

Across all digital asset management platforms, reviewers reported the product they use meets their requirements at an average rate of 85%, and on average reviewers said they were 85% likely to recommend the product they use.
