HOUSTON, March 8, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- G2X Energy, a developer of advanced natural gas to methanol projects, along with their strategic partner the Proman Group, announced today they have entered into license and engineering contracts with Johnson Matthey for their previously announced world-scale methanol production facility located in Lake Charles, Louisiana. Johnson Matthey will supply the technology license, basic engineering, catalyst and technical services for the project.
Once complete, the G2X facility, known as Big Lake Fuels Methanol Plant, will produce 1.4 million metric tons of commercial grade methanol per year. Construction on the Big Lake Fuels Plant will take approximately 3 years to complete and will add 2500 direct and indirect jobs to the Lake Charles area during the construction period.
