Gabriel & Co. Launches Gabriel Love™ Foundation
NEW YORK, Oct. 27, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Fine jeweler Gabriel & Co. announced the launch of its Gabriel Love™ Foundation today. The Gabriel Love™ Foundation will work with DKMS, an international nonprofit organization dedicated to eradicating blood cancers like leukemia and other blood-related illnesses, inspiring both men and women around the world to register as bone marrow and blood stem cell donors, as one of its charitable partners.
This partnership announcement comes on the day of DKMS' highly anticipated Halloween benefit, The Blood Ball, which takes place later this evening at the Diamond Horseshoe in Times Square. The Blood Ball is expected to have 500 guests, including celebrities like Alicia Quarles, Anna Wood, Anthony Bennett, Brandon Jennings, Bryan Boy, Carrie Preston, Charlotte Santo Domingo, Cory Michael Smith, Frankie Grande, Rachel Smith, Rain Dove, Tali Lennox, Taryn Manning, Taylor Spreitler, Selenis Leyva and Veronica Dunne. International singer/songwriter, Grace, will hit the stage with a special performance.
Gabriel & Co. chose to partner with DKMS because their efforts greatly affected Gabriel & Co. co-founder Dominick Gabriel's wife, Christine Gabriel, who has been battling blood cancer for the past couple of years. When Christine was first diagnosed, she had a short window to find a blood marrow and blood cell donor. Dominick, along with his brother Jack Gabriel and Jack's wife Berna Gabriel and the company as a whole quickly mobilized to build awareness globally with DKMS. Christine was able to be treated successfully and is on the path to recovery. She will be spearheading the Gabriel Love Foundation's partnership with DKMS.
Beginning today, for every purchase of Gabriel & Co.'s "X" necklace, 5% of the proceeds from each sale will go to DKMS where 100% of the proceeds go towards registering potential bone marrow donors. The necklace retails for $570. The "X" necklace was chosen as it symbolizes the eradication of blood cancer and was inspired by the DKMS logo which contains an "X".
In addition to DKMS, the Gabriel Love™ Foundation will focus on Gabriel & Co.'s commitment as a company to build awareness and involvement with all of their chartable partners, including Jewelers for Children, a charity that works with St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Make-A-Wish Foundation, CASA for Children and the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation.
