Gallery KBNY's Williamsburg Loft Renovation Featured in Architectural Digest Italia
Engineering and construction by Gallery KBNY, with interiors by Nicholas Obeid, bring new life to a historic Brooklyn loft.
NEW YORK, Oct. 29, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Gallery KBNY, a New York City-based luxury design-build firm, is pleased to announce that its renovation of a Williamsburg loft has been featured in Architectural Digest Italia.
Located within an early 20th-century Brooklyn building, the 1,700-square-foot residence retains the character of its industrial origins, with soaring 15-foot ceilings, exposed timber beams, and expansive natural light. The transformation pairs these historic elements with contemporary architecture and richly layered interiors.
With engineering and construction by Gallery KBNY and interior design by Nicholas Obeid, the project reflects a thoughtful collaboration between architectural planning, distinctive design, and the technical demands of renovating a historic New York residence. For a closer look at the project, including Gallery KBNY's scope of work and process images from construction, visit the project feature on the Gallery KBNY blog.
A Contemporary Interpretation of a Historic Loft
The centerpiece of the home is a sculptural kitchen, where contrasting woods, richly veined natural stone, and brass detailing create a striking focal point within the open living space. A custom brass-clad range hood anchors the composition, complemented by tailored cabinetry and carefully integrated finishes.
Throughout the residence, the renovation preserves the loft's original architectural character while introducing a more refined and functional layout suited to contemporary living.
The three bathrooms offer distinct expressions of material and form. Among them, a guest bathroom inspired by Milan's Villa Necchi Campiglio combines travertine, layered mirrors, and geometric detailing to create a space that feels both timeless and contemporary.
Gallery KBNY led the architectural development and construction of the residence, working in collaboration with Obeid to translate the interior design into a cohesive finished home. The result is a balance of historic preservation, contemporary design, and highly considered detailing.
