GAME OF CHOICES II Ranks #2 for Career Apps in iTunes App Store in its First Week of Release
Career development app created by pro athlete turned engineer ranked by national app data aggregator App Annie

The app is the first major release for professional athlete turned software engineer Damon J. Smith, whose own journey through careers has been nothing short of unconventional. Starting out as a professional football player, he wound up with an 18+ year career as an engineer at Intel Corporation due to an injury. Eventually, however, he returned to professional athletics in the sport of motocross, and along the way he wrote books, hosted a talk radio show, developed a health and wellness blog, and created his own performance art stage show.
Smith attributes his wide variety of career choices to education, training and, more importantly, intangibles such as work ethic and mental toughness. "Charting out a rewarding career in any industry isn't easy. Academics are only one piece of the puzzle," says Smith. "If you have the right mindset, you can accomplish whatever you want in life. You just have to be willing to do the work, stay focused on your objective, and think outside the box."
Smith's game features a career test and variety of career paths for players to try on for size. They must first select from a list of social values and are then rewarded points for how well they handle career scenarios and "life curveball questions" presented through each career option. There is a life coach character (based after Smith himself) called the "mentor," which users can access for help at any time, and there is even a $100 cash incentive to play well.
While the app is currently only available for iOS devices, Smith says there is the potential for an Android release later in the year. But not before their next debut of GAME OF CHOICES® II for the Apple Watch. Due for release by the end of January 2016, the watch version will alert wearable users throughout the day to make positive "think outside the box" choices.
