Gamesa Hosts President Barack Obama's Town Hall Meeting
FAIRLESS HILLS, Pa., April 6, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Gamesa Technology Corp., a global wind energy leader, welcomes President Barack Obama to its North American nacelles plant in Fairless Hills, Pennsylvania. President Obama will discuss energy policies during a town hall meeting with Gamesa employees on Wednesday, April 6, 2011 at 1:30PM.
Obama's visit to one of Gamesa's plants -- his second visit in recent years, and his first as President of the United States -- comes within the framework of a campaign to outline his energy plan. The plan is designed to diversify the country's energy mix and ensure a cleaner and safer energy model for the future.
"We are pleased to host President Obama's town hall meeting to discuss energy policies," said Dirk Matthys, Chairman and CEO, Gamesa North America. "We believe his selection of our North American nacelles plant is fitting as Gamesa continues to build its leadership position in wind energy technology in the United States. Gamesa's recent opening of the Offshore Wind Technology Center is but one example of our commitment to playing a key part in energy in the United States. At the Center, Gamesa will work in partnership with Huntington Ingalls Industries to develop the next generation of offshore wind turbines that will be deployed in the United States and around the world, aiming to help meet the rising demand for sustainable, clean energy."
