New or Upgraded Features
Intel 6^th Generation Skylake Processors
To run the most demanding tasks, the DURABOOK R8300 fully rugged notebook offers a choice of four Intel 6^th generation Skylake turbo processors. The unit comes standard with i5-6200U turbo. Other options include:Skylake i5-6300U turbo with vPro, Skylake i7-6500U turbo, and Skylake i7-6600U turbo vPro. (Intel vPro provides another layer of authentication identity protection.)

Advanced Display Technology
The R8300 features Advanced Display Technology that improves visibility in all lighting conditions, including direct sunlight, without simply upping the brightness. Instead, it leverages enhanced contrast ratios and polarization techniques, resulting in improved image clarity without sacrificing battery life. What's more, the advanced display technology performs just as well undocked as docked, so users won't see the noticeable screen darkening that usually occurs when a notebook switches from A/C power to battery power.

DDR4 Memory Technology – More Efficient, More Speed
The R8300 now includes two 204-pin DDR4 SODIMM sockets, each providing 4GB, 8GB, 16GB, or 32GB of memory. DDR4 uses up to 20% less power than DDR3 (1.5v), making it more energy efficient, saving battery life, lowering energy costs, and reducing system temperature. DDR4 is also twice as fast, increasing responsiveness and productivity, and twice as dense with more memory bandwidth.

Advanced Connectivity
The DURABOOK R8300 connectivity has been upgraded with a Wi-Fi/Bluetooth combo featuring Intel® Wireless-AC 8260 and dual-mode Bluetooth 4.2. The combo is fast, energy efficient, and provides excellent coverage. The R8300 is also equipped with Gobi500 and supports multi-carriers.

Superior Security
Added to its already excellent security features, the R8300 now has a cryptographic Trusted Platform Module (TPM) 2.0 chip for platform authentication and a biometric fingerprint scanner to easily identify and verify individuals. The unit's Quick Release HDD ejects the disk drive in less than 5-seconds, ideal for any situation calling for the protection of valuable data.

Peace of Mind Warranty
