Gannett Healthcare Group names Melyni Serpa as CEO

HOFFMAN ESTATES, Ill., April 4, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Gannett Healthcare Group (GHG), a leading healthcare media company and the largest provider of continuing nursing education within the U.S., today announced the appointment of Melyni Serpa as chief executive officer, effective immediately.

Serpa replaces Steve Hauber, who had served as the company's CEO for 10 years and who has been named chief executive officer of Clipper Magazine, a leader in the local, regional and national direct mail advertising industry, and vice president of Gannett Digital Ventures. Hauber's appointment also is effective immediately. In his new role, Hauber will continue to oversee the global functions of GHG.

She began her career in the publishing industry more than 25 years ago and joined GHG in 1996 as its director of circulation. Serpa's previous titles with the company have included executive vice president and general manager for publications, executive vice president of operations - responsible for circulation, production and information systems and acting executive director with responsibility for sales, editorial and production. She holds a BBA in management and an MBA in organizational psychology and development.
