Gannett Stations Receive 27 Honors from National Press Photographers Association

MCLEAN, Va., April 6, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Gannett Co., Inc. (NYSE: GCI) today announced that three of its local Broadcasting properties – KUSA-TV in Denver, CO; KARE-TV in Minneapolis-St. Paul, MN; and WZZM-TV in Grand Rapids, MI – have received a total of 27 honors from the National Press Photographers Association (NPPA) Awards, including five first-place awards in the categories of Reporting, Documentary, Deadline, In-Depth and Sports coverage.  Anne Herbst of KUSA and Jonathan Malat of KARE garnered six honors in the photography and editing categories while Corky Scholl of KUSA received five.
