Gateway Energy Continues to Hire Despite Economic Downturn
MONTEBELLO, N.Y., Sept. 15, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Gateway Energy Services is battling unemployment in Pennsylvania by continuing to hire for its 56-seat call center in Forty Fort. The company plans to hire 25 more residential telesales representatives and reach its goal by November 1. Its multi-faceted recruiting agenda focuses on flexible part-time positions and includes hosting onsite recruiting events, attending career fairs and canvassing local colleges for qualified people.
On Saturday, September 17 (11 a.m. - 4 p.m.) and again on Monday, September 19 (11 a.m. - 6 p.m.), Gateway is hosting on onsite recruiting event for walk-in applicants at its satellite office at 190 Welles St., Forty Fort. Qualified candidates who have call center or sales experience or candidates who are looking to begin a career in sales are encouraged to bring their resumes so that they can interview immediately with a Gateway representative.
On Tuesday, September 20, Gateway will have a booth at The Times Leader Career Fair at the Kingston Armory from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The event is sponsored by The Times Leader, 1st Battalion 109th Field Artillery and Pennsylvania Career Link, and will work in conjunction with Monster.com.
On Tuesday, October 11, Gateway representatives will be at Luzerne Community College (in front of the bookstore) from noon to 2 p.m. talking to students about careers in sales, taking resumes and setting up interviews. Also on October 11 at 4 p.m., Gateway will host an exclusive presentation of our services and the jobs being offered, as well as conduct on-the-spot interviews with job applicants at Kings College.
Look for Gateway at the Great Northeast 2011 Job Fair in Scranton on October 19 and also at Penn State University's Wilkes-Barre campus.
Gateway, since opening its satellite office in January 2010, has created more than 50 jobs for Wyoming Valley residents, and fields a team of three sales representatives in the neighboring Allentown area.
