GBI Bio Appoints Jesse McCool, Ph.D., as Chief Executive Officer

Biopharmaceutical industry veteran will lead GBI's continued advancement toward commercial-scale manufacturing and expansion of its early-stage biologics capabilities.

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla., Sept. 10, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- GBI Biomanufacturing, Inc., ("GBI"/ "Goodwin Biotechnology Incorporated") a contract development and manufacturing organization (CDMO) specializing in complex biologics, today announced the appointment of Jesse McCool, Ph.D., as Chief Executive Officer. Dr. McCool joined GBI in late 2025 and most recently served as President and Chief Operating Officer.

Since joining GBI, Dr. McCool has led initiatives focused on commercial readiness, operational excellence, inspection readiness, and strengthening the company's delivery capabilities. Under his leadership, GBI successfully continued it's commercial-readiness program for its client's Biologics License Application submission, improved project execution to strengthen client satisfaction and support longer-term partnerships and introduced innovative new service offerings into the market.

Before joining GBI, he held executive leadership positions at several CDMOs and life sciences organizations including Bionova Scientific, Our Blood Institute, Cytovance Biologics, Lonza and served as co-founder and CEO of Wheeler Bio.

As CEO, Dr. McCool will lead GBI's continued transformation into a commercial-scale manufacturing partner while expanding the company's early-stage capabilities across monoclonal antibodies, bispecific antibodies, recombinant proteins, ADCs & bioconjugates, cell-based products, and other complex biologics.
